The TRIUMPHS Society is now accepting nominations for the position of President-Elect:

Per the Society Bylaws, the individual elected as President-Elect will serve a three-year term (2026–2028), followed by three years as President (2029–2031), for a total of six years of service on the Leadership Team. To be eligible to serve, nominees must be current members of the TRIUMPHS Society. Visit https://triumphssociety.org/membership to join or renew membership.

We welcome nominations of individuals who have demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the TRIUMPHS Society and who are eager to contribute to its continued growth and leadership.

You may nominate in one of two ways:

  1. Self-nomination: Submit your name, contact information, and a brief statement (1–2 paragraphs) describing your qualifications and interest in serving. We encourage self nomination.

  2. Nominate someone else: Submit the nominee’s name and contact information after which we will contact the nominee to confirm acceptance of the nomination and obtain the required brief statement.

The TRIUMPHS Society Annual Business Meeting will take place virtually on Thursday, December 4, 2:00–3:00 EST / 1:00–2:00 CST / 12:00–1:00 MST / 11:00–12:00 PST. Electronic voting for the President-Elect will open at that meeting and close on December 11. We appreciate your participation in strengthening the leadership of the TRIUMPHS Society.

(TRansforming Instruction: Understanding Mathematics via Primary Historical Sources)

The purpose of the TRIUMPHS Society is to bring together practitioners and others interested in the use of primary historical sources in the teaching and learning of mathematics to encourage and support the development and use of classroom resources based on primary historical sources, to share teaching experiences and publicize research based on the implementation of such resources, and to promote the proliferation of primary source-based pedagogy in mathematics through conversation and professional development.
